About

Bridge the Gap

Bridge the Gap was created for caregivers. In a world where life moves so quickly, those with disabilities can sometimes fall between the cracks of the education system. Our goal is to make sure that doesn’t happen. We’re here for you and your loved one!

The Founder

Meet Lisa, MS

Lisa Dowen graduated Purdue University in 2018 with a Master’s Degree in Psychology with a focus in Applied Behavior Analysis. She has worked in the ABA field since 2013 in a variety of settings including school, clinic, and in home behavioral support. In 2020 with the uncertainty of how children would adapt to our new “normal” with COVID-19 shut downs in schools, she began to work with families on IEP advocacy. Seeing how misinformed parents were about their child’s needs by the school, Lisa began to delve more into the rights of parents and caregivers not only within the schools but within their current ABA services. On top of continuing IEP training and keeping up with the latest changes and information per NJ state laws, she is also certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
